As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Health Practitioner, you'll play a key role in improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families. From leading culturally responsive primary health care initiatives to guiding teams and strengthening community partnerships, you'll help shape services that make a genuine difference every day.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Leading high-quality primary health care programs that improve access, continuity of care and community health outcomes.
  • Supporting and mentoring a multidisciplinary team to achieve service goals, uphold standards and deliver safe, culturally responsive care.
  • Partnering with community members, health professionals and stakeholders to develop practical solutions to complex health needs.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives that strengthen services and support better experiences for patients and families.

Let's talk about you!

You're a respected Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health professional who leads with compassion, integrity and courage. You know how to balance clinical expertise with cultural knowledge, building trust with community while supporting your team to achieve meaningful outcomes. The work you do creates lasting impact, helping individuals, families and communities access the care and support they need to thrive.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice and Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • Demonstrated experience leading health programs, managing teams and achieving service outcomes.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills in community and healthcare settings.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience leading services in rural or regional communities and/or a strong track record of developing innovative community-focused health programs.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
