About the role

The Registered Midwife supports excellence in midwifery care and patient outcomes, the registered midwife is a clinician who provides direct midwifery care with clinical competence and capability, optimising the perinatal journey of women and their families and enabling woman centred care with enhanced access to services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Contemporary clinical knowledge in the area of Antenatal/Postnatal midwifery practice delivering competent midwifery care in complex situations while providing support to other team members. 
  • Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional midwifery care.
  • Ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Midwife when expert advice is required.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
  • Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care.
