What your day could look like
As a Registered Midwife, you'll play a vital role in supporting women, babies and families at some of life's most important moments. Working within a close‑knit regional team, you'll combine clinical expertise with genuine connection to deliver safe, respectful and empowering care that reflects community needs.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Partnering with women and families to deliver high‑quality antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care that supports positive birth experiences
- Using evidence‑based practice and sound professional judgement to respond confidently to changing clinical situations
- Collaborating with midwives, medical teams and community partners to achieve seamless, woman‑centred care
- Supporting learning, reflection and continuous improvement to strengthen outcomes for families and the wider service
Let's talk about you!
You're a midwife who leads with compassion and confidence. You trust your clinical judgement, value strong relationships, and take pride in delivering care that respects each woman's choices, culture and story. You're motivated by making a real difference, especially in a regional setting where your contribution is deeply felt. Each day, you'll feel proud knowing your work helps families feel safe, supported and heard.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Registered Midwife in Australia
- Broad midwifery experience across pregnancy, birth and postnatal care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a woman‑centred approach
- Commitment to professional growth, quality care and safe practice
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in regional or rural services and/or postgraduate study relevant to midwifery.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage to every interaction, helping build healthier futures for women, babies and families in our community.
