What your day could look like
As a Psychologist, you'll play an important role in supporting patients and families navigating both acute and ongoing health challenges. From assessment through to intervention, you'll work alongside medical, nursing and allied health colleagues to improve wellbeing and recovery across hospital and community settings.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering thoughtful psychological assessments and therapies that improve patient coping, adjustment and quality of life
- Partnering with multidisciplinary teams to shape holistic, person‑centred care plans
- Supporting patients, families and carers during periods of uncertainty, illness and change
- Contributing ideas that strengthen service quality, learning and continuous improvement
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who blends professional capability with genuine care. You bring compassion into every interaction, act with integrity in complex situations, and respect the dignity of every person you support. You value teamwork, stay curious, and take courage in stepping forward with ideas that improve care. What you'll feel most proud of is knowing your work helps people feel heard, supported and empowered during some of life's hardest moments.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Psychologist in Australia
- Confidence delivering evidence‑based psychological assessment and intervention
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
- A commitment to ethical practice, learning and reflective self‑development
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in hospital, rehabilitation, oncology, palliative or rural/regional settings, and/or postgraduate training or supervision experience.
Most importantly, you're passionate about making a difference, committed to compassionate care, and motivated to grow with a health service that values integrity, innovation and courage.
This is a role where your expertise directly improves lives and strengthens community wellbeing.
