What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse – Child Health, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and families through early intervention and community-based care. From delivering evidence-based assessments to building trusted relationships with families, you'll help shape healthier futures while working within a connected multidisciplinary team.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering holistic assessments and care plans that improve health outcomes for children and families
- Partnering with carers and colleagues to coordinate care and strengthen community wellbeing
- Leading clinical decision-making and supporting quality improvements across services
- Promoting health education initiatives that empower families to support their child's wellbeing
Let's talk about you!
You're a confident and compassionate nurse who brings both clinical expertise and genuine care to every interaction. You're someone who values strong relationships, thrives in a community setting, and takes pride in guiding families through important stages of a child's development. You act with integrity, lead with courage, and constantly look for ways to improve outcomes and experiences for those you serve.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with appropriate practising certification
- Postgraduate qualification in Child Health Nursing and immunisation accreditation
- Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to lead, mentor others, and contribute to quality and safety improvements
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working in rural or community health settings and/or additional postgraduate study relevant to child and family health.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about improving early life health outcomes and committed to making a lasting difference in their community.
In this role, you'll help shape healthier futures for children and families while living the values of compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage every day.
