What your day could look like
As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you'll play a critical role in enhancing care for older people across residential aged care settings. From guiding complex clinical decisions to shaping how services evolve, you'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver outcomes that truly matter.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering advanced assessment and intervention that improves residents' communication and swallowing outcomes
- Partnering with families, carers and health teams to support informed, person-centred care decisions
- Leading quality improvement initiatives that strengthen clinical practice and service delivery
- Coaching and mentoring colleagues, helping build capability across the service
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who combines clinical expertise with genuine care. You communicate with clarity and empathy, make confident decisions in complex situations, and bring others along with you. You take pride in shaping better outcomes for older people, not just through what you do, but how you lead and influence others. You're motivated by purpose, and you value dignity, respect and innovation in the way care is delivered.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in speech pathology with current professional membership
- Strong experience delivering services in aged care or complex clinical settings
- Advanced communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to influence and lead
- A proactive approach to improving practice using evidence and data
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in regional or multi-site service delivery and/or additional training or postgraduate study.
Most importantly, you're passionate about improving the quality of life for valued residents and committed to making a meaningful impact in regional communities.
