What your day could look like
As an Intensive Care Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, responsive care to patients with complex and acute needs. From assessing and coordinating care plans to working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll help drive outcomes that improve lives and strengthen community health.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering high-quality, evidence-informed care that supports positive patient outcomes in fast-paced environments
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to plan, coordinate and evaluate care that meets individual patient needs
- Supporting safe clinical practice by applying sound judgement, managing risk, and contributing to continuous improvement
- Mentoring and guiding colleagues, fostering a positive team culture and strengthening capability across the ward
Let's talk about you!
You bring both clinical expertise and genuine care to everything you do. You thrive in high-pressure environments, communicate with clarity and empathy, and support those around you to deliver their best. You take pride in delivering care that makes a real difference—whether that's stabilising a patient in a critical moment or helping a team work more effectively together. You're motivated by purpose and driven to contribute to safer, better healthcare outcomes.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with a relevant professional body
- Demonstrated clinical capability in acute or critical care settings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Sound clinical judgement with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty and/or experience supporting or mentoring others in a clinical setting.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage.
Make a real impact by delivering care that matters—where skill, teamwork and compassion come together to improve lives.
