What your day could look like

As a Senior Social Worker - Acute Care Team, you'll play a critical role in supporting adults experiencing acute mental health crises, helping them access the right care at the right time. From delivering expert clinical interventions to guiding service improvements and mentoring others, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes that make a real difference for individuals, families and the community.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Providing high-level assessment, intervention and care planning that supports safe, person-centred recovery outcomes.
  • Building trusted partnerships with consumers, families, colleagues and community services to achieve coordinated care.
  • Leading quality and service improvement initiatives that enhance clinical practice and strengthen patient experiences.
  • Sharing your expertise through mentoring, supervision and professional guidance that helps others grow and succeed.

Let's talk about you!

You're someone who combines clinical expertise with compassion, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to helping people through complex and often difficult situations. You remain calm under pressure, communicate with empathy and integrity, and know how to bring people together around positive outcomes. You'll take pride in knowing your work supports recovery, strengthens services and creates meaningful change for individuals, families and the broader community.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Eligibility for professional social work membership and the ability to meet relevant practice requirements.
  • Significant experience delivering high-quality social work and mental health services in complex clinical environments.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proven ability to lead improvement initiatives, support others and apply evidence-informed practice.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working in acute mental health or crisis response settings and/or additional training in mental health, supervision or clinical leadership.

Above all, you'll bring Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage to every interaction, helping deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for the community.
