What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse – Geriatrics, you'll help older people receive safe, coordinated and compassionate care. Working closely with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams, you'll use your clinical expertise to improve health outcomes and care experiences.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Completing comprehensive assessments and care plans that support positive outcomes for older patients.
- Providing clinical leadership and guidance that strengthens nursing practice and supports evidence-based care.
- Partnering with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
- Leading quality improvement activities that enhance safety, reduce risk and improve services.

You're a skilled clinician who brings compassion, sound judgement and a commitment to high-quality care. You remain calm in complex situations, support colleagues, and take pride in improving patient experiences. Through your leadership and example, you help build a positive team culture grounded in Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or acute care settings, with strong clinical assessment and care coordination skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
You'll stand out if you have postgraduate qualifications in geriatric, rehabilitation or older persons' health nursing, and/or experience leading service improvement or workforce development initiatives.
Most importantly, you're passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of older people while delivering care that reflects our values every day.
