What your day could look like
As a Home Care Worker, you'll help older people maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to the community. From providing practical support in the home to building trusted relationships and promoting quality of life, you'll be part of a caring team that delivers services with dignity, respect and purpose.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Supporting clients with personal care, household tasks and daily activities that help them stay independent at home.
- Building positive relationships and providing social connection that promotes wellbeing and reduces isolation.
- Monitoring client wellbeing, recognising changes and communicating observations to ensure timely support.
- Delivering safe, person-centred care while adapting to changing client needs across the community.
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and takes pride in making a difference through practical support and human connection. You bring compassion, integrity and respect to every interaction, understanding that the small things you do each day can have a lasting impact on someone's independence and confidence. You'll find satisfaction in helping older people continue living life on their own terms while working as part of a team that values trust, dignity and care.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current C Class driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain these on commencement.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to work independently.
- A reliable, flexible approach with a commitment to maintaining client privacy, dignity and safety.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) and/or experience providing community or aged care services.
Most importantly, you'll bring the Darling Downs Health values of Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage to every client interaction, helping people live well and remain connected to their community.
