Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Clinical Caseload Midwife to join the team within the Birth Centre on a Permanent full-time basis and sits within the Women's and Children's Service Group. (Please note: Position won't commence until mid November 2024)
Eligible health workers who make the move (interstate or international) to work with us may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (conditions apply).

About your opportunity
The Maternity Services at Townsville University Hospital, are currently seeking to recruit a Clinical Midwife to their team on a permanent full-time basis. (Please note: Position won't commence until mid November 2024)
The Clinical Midwife will provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal caseload care to 40 women per year in a freestanding Birth Centre. Provision of midwifery care, support and education to women and their families, through the provision of best practice and safe, high quality midwifery care.
This position sits within the Midwifery Model of Care – Continuity of care caseload model working within the local agreement as per Nursing and Midwifery Award. Appointees will be required work on call and will benefit from an annualised salary.
Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a. comprising:
- Annualized salary with 35% loading
- Salary range of $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
- 6 weeks annual leave
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
- Midwifery Model of Care – Continuity of care caseload model working within the local agreement as per Nursing and Midwifery Award.Appointees will be required work on call and will benefit from an annualised salary.
- Demonstrates clinical skills in intravenous cannulation, water immersion in labour and waterbirth, perineal suturing and speculum examination. If not competent in these skills must be willing to undertake the necessary training within six months of commencement.
- The successful candidate will be required to complete The Townsville Hospital mandatory competencies and the Maternity Support Unit mandatory competencies, the Drug Therapy Protocol, Examination of the Newborn package and the Water Immersion in Labour package, within three months of commencement.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- 6 month probation period.
