    The Domestic and Family Violence Death Review Unit (DFVDRU) is situated within the Coroners Court of Queensland. It provides specialist assistance to coroners in their investigations of domestic and family violence (DFV) related deaths, and in relation to child protection systems, policies and practices.

    In addition to the provision of support to Coroners, the unit now also provides secretariat support for the DFV Death Review and Advisory Board (DFVDRAB). The DFVDRAB has been established to undertake independent systemic reviews of DFV related deaths to identify opportunities for policy, system and practice change and to develop recommendations to inform more effective death prevention strategies that aim to reduce the incidence of these deaths.

    Southport Magistrates Court is situated on the corner of Hinze and Davenport Streets, Southport. The Southport Court is a dual registry dealing with both District and Magistrates Court, including Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal matters. Southport is also the home of the first permanent Domestic and Family (DFV) Court in the State. Southport currently has three District Court Judges, 10 Magistrates with two dedicated to the DFV Court, and one full-time QCAT adjudicator.

    About the Role:
    As a Court Services Officer, you will ensure that administrative processes relevant to the operations of courts, including the delivery of quality services to members of the public, judicial officers and other internal and external clients are performed efficiently.
