This interesting and challenging role as a Ranger for the Great Barrier Reef & Marine Parks Region of the Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service & Partnerships will be based in Rosslyn Bay. The duties of the role are to deliver annual work programs for the Capricorn Coast Management Unit including fire and pest management, operational and visitor infrastructure and maintenance projects across marine and island protected estate in the Mackay/Capricorn Coast area of the Southern Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships (QPWS&P) have a great opportunity for an entry level Ranger to join their Innisfail North team, focusing on Queensland's national parks, state forests and protected reserves. This position is a temporary position through to October 2021, with fulltime hours available. This role’s focus area is the Innisfail North Management Unit which includes extensive road and trail networks in various protected estates including sections of Wooroonooran National Park. Rangers assist in a range of tasks, including pest management, fire management, estate and visitor management. This position is based in Innisfail, however travel to other locations may be required from time to time. This includes overnight stays and can include regular weekend work.

This position will commence upon appointment through to the 4th July 2021, with a possible extension. The position is based at Lakefield Ranger Base, 85 kilometres NNW of Laura - Cape York Peninsula. This role is responsible for working in partnership with Rinyirru Land Trust rangers to ensure that monitoring programs such as fence line maintenance, NRM (Natural Resource Management) projects, and cultural resource management, are delivered within specific timelines. The work is challenging and physical at times. Experience working with Traditional Owner groups to deliver on required outcomes is desirable.

The Senior Ranger role provides technical support to the Northern Region staff and supervises other Pest Team members within the region.

This position is critical to ensure Regional support and delivery of pest management to a high standard. This position will be responsible for tasks such as project management and delivery, attending stakeholder meetings, liaising with Joint Management partners, providing technical support to Northern Region staff and supervising other Pest Team staff. The Regional Pest Team is responsible for a number of major projects and this position is critical to ensuring delivery of these commitments. The position is based in the Cairns Regional Office and includes considerable travel during busy periods and overnight stays.

The Ranger in Charge, South D’Aguilar supervises a multi-disciplined work unit and shares the Samford office with the North D’Aguilar Management Unit. The Samford office is an operations base responsible for on ground management of D’Aguilar National Park and a number of conservation parks and State forests on the north side of Brisbane. It is common for both work units to work collaboratively, particularly on large projects and fire operations.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships (QPWS&P) have an exciting opportunity for a team member to join their team temporarily for approximately 18 months undertaking a role as a Senior Ranger, delivering the development and project management of the proposed Eastern Yalanjiwarra Culture and Tourism Hub and Visitor Centre in the Daintree National Park. This will include specific procurement and contract development, leading and coordinating the contractors, ensuring a high level of financial oversight and ensuring safety and standards of the project are in line with contract specifications. While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, experience and / or knowledge of commercial construction project delivery, including coordination of contractors, is highly desirable.
