This is a new position based within the Marine Protected Area Policy Unit, a small team responsible for developing policy and legislation to protect and manage Queensland’s marine protected areas (state marine parks and declared Fish Habitat Areas). This role will lead and coordinate projects to support the development and delivery of a new Management Effectiveness Evaluation and Adaptive Management Program (the Program) for Queensland’s marine parks, with an initial focus on the state’s two Southern marine parks (Moreton Bay and Great Sandy Marine Parks). The Program will facilitate outcomes-focused marine park management as well as inform future sunset reviews of zoning plans for these marine parks.
